21/2/01: I would be delighted to hear from anyone who remembers me from Astley St Stephens Infants 1952-1955, St Stephens Primary 1955-1959, or Manchester Road 1959-1963. I was a member of 1st Astley Scouts and one of their first Queens Scouts, also connected to 13th Leigh (Bedford Church) Rovers. I left Astley in 1970 to live in Radcliffe and then left the UK for New Zealand in 1991. In no way am I homesick (although the Houghton Weavers sound great and my brother and I have a good selection of their albums) but I would be pleased to hear from anyone who remembers and would like to contact me. Some of the people I remember (in no particular order) are Elaine Hurst (nee White), David Wilkinson, John Poole, Jeff Williamson, Bryan Mort, Jim Griffiths (our best man) and Alan Brown.

15/2/01: Hi, to everyone who went to the heart of soul - WIGAN CASINO!
I am trying to find Sandra Long from the Marsh Green area of Wigan (I think). Has two brothers. Last saw her in 1979, heard she had got married and moved to Burnley. If anyone knows her please email me. Had some fun together and would love to speak/see again.

My grandmother was Phoebe Tickle of Urmston Street, this was also my mother's name, previously a Miss Leigh. Help!

5/2/01: I lived in Tyldesley until coming to Canada in 76, went to St Georges CE School, then Tyldesley Girls school, left there in 63 and went to work for Burtons Tailoring in Walkden, got married, had children then moved to Canada. Anyone out there remember me or my hubby John who went to Sacred Heart CE school in Hindsford, then onto St Mary's Astley, worked for NCB as a mechanic? Give us a shout!
