My Grandfather was Henry Hurst, and his brothers were James, John Robert, Roger, Thomas and William. He also had 2 sisters Jane and Ethel and they were all born in the FLEECE INN at 77 Westleigh Lane Westleigh. Their parents were Robert and Margaret Hurst. My mother is Alice Briggs (nee Hurst)and my Grandmother was Margaret Glover (born 1894)in Twist Lane Leigh.

My great grandfather Henry lived at 181 Firs Lane, Westleigh, so stated on the 1901 census. His son Ellis Darby (my grandfather) also lived at the above address. Henry and his wife Mary (nee Statham) had 11 children. One of them was my grandfather (Ellis), he lived at Firs Lane too. Also moved around a bit. I have addresses at 9 and 20 Plank Lane, Leigh. Ellis must have moved to Earby Yorkshire in the early 1900s. My father (Donald) was born in Earby in 1912. But I think maybe lots of Darbys must have stayed around Leigh, as I have the burial plot number in Leigh for a lot of my ancestors (Leigh cemetry Grave 7-B-17). Can anybody help with imformation.
