25/06/02: Martyn Walmsley of Tedder Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN4 9ES, I'm trying to get in touch with Chris Ackers who went to Leigh Boys Grammer school and became, at one time, manager of the post office in Tyldesley. He had a brother, Stephen, and his dad, Fred or Frank, was a painter and decorator. His parents lived on Holden Road and, after he was married, he lived with his wife and two children on Chillingham Drive, I think. Any news would be greatly appreciated. Martyn.Walmsley@rbs.com

I want to thank those who sent emails we loved getting them and news of dear old Bongs. There must be more of you who remember us or know others who may not use the Internet, but who may like to write to us instead. Let me jog your memories. I went to the Mission then the Senior Girls, leaving in 1955. I worked first at Kirkhall Lane Day Nursery. Then at Hindsford Co-op and TYldesley Co-op. Gordon worked at Grundy's Foundry and Burton's Mail Order. He played for Atherton Coll's until approx 1964/5. We emigrated in 1968 and have had a great life here-down under.
