26/03/01: Pip Whiteman of 2 Berkeley Court, Churchill Park, Washingborough, Lincoln, LN4 1EW writes: I am trying to find out the whereabouts of Shan Isherwood (age 30). We were at Epsom School of Art together (1988-1990). She lost her father at an early age and went to Ackworth School near Doncaster. She has two sisters, Nicola and Justine. They all ended up in the London area. I remember her telling me her grandparents lived in Leigh, her grandfather was a headmaster. All the girls were close and their grandparents and would often visit them. She has an uncle based in the north west, I think his name is Andrew Isherwood (a businessman). Shan's friends from the Epsom days would love to know if she is OK, we have not heard from her for many years. If anybody knows anything about the Isherwood girls, my friends and I would be delighted to hear from you. pip.whiteman@ukgateway.net

I lost touch with Julie in 1985 (3 years after I moved away from Leigh to Wiltshire). Her parents used to live in Laurel Grove, Westleigh (I think her father was a bus driver) and the last address I had for Julie was Leigh Road, Atherton. If anyone can help me to track her down, please get in touch. Thanks!

1/3/01: I was born in 1958, have lived in Germany for the past 25 or so years and was surprised last year to see just how much Leigh has changed in that time, in some cases beyond recognition. The new bypass and the removal of landmarks has made a big difference. I must say though that I was moved almost to tears to see how Westleigh (I used to live not far from the now demolished Wesleyan Church) has become run-down and delapidated. Would be nice to hear from anyone who still knows me, particularly from the last year at Leigh Boys' Grammar School before it went comprehensive.
