10/11/01: Robert HOPE writes: Hello to folk in Atherton Leigh. I'm researching my family history and would be grateful if anyone out there in Atherton or Leigh can supply any info on the following people. Robert HOPE (born in Atherton about 1817) married Mary KNOWLES (born in Atherton about 1820) on 4 April 1847 at St-Mary-the Virgin Church in Leigh. Their respective fathers were Thomas HOPE (a weaver) and Peter KNOWLES (a blacksmith). Robert and Mary had children Peter HOPE (1847) Margaret HOPE (1849) and probably James HOPE (18??). I'm primarily interested down in tracking down Thomas HOPE and Peter KNOWLES and spouses but any information whatsoever would be very welcome. Robert and Mary HOPE moved to Bolton at some point as they appear there in the Census 1881. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide. bobby99@btinternet.com

He has two children, myself - Carole, and a son called Andrew, (as well as three other children - Jenna, Muttley and Deniver - the 3 dogs!). Please get in touch with me, it would be a lovely surprise for him. c.souch@btinternet.com
